Position Overview:
The Tax Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the company’s tax planning, compliance, and reporting. You will be responsible for managing the preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, and providing strategic tax advice to senior leadership. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of tax regulations, who can balance the technical aspects of tax management with a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Planning & Strategy:
Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company’s financial and operational goals. Provide proactive advice on tax implications of business activities, mergers, and acquisitions, ensuring tax efficiency.
- Tax Compliance:
Oversee the preparation and submission of all tax filings, including corporate income tax, GST, payroll tax, and other statutory taxes. Ensure full compliance with local, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Reporting:
Prepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related items, including deferred tax calculations and transfer pricing documentation.
- Audit & Regulatory Compliance:
Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Serve as the company’s point of contact for tax-related regulatory matters, ensuring timely responses and effective management of audit risks.
- Transfer Pricing:
Ensure the company’s transfer pricing policies are compliant with international standards. Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation and support cross-border transactions in line with global tax requirements.
- Risk Management:
Identify and manage tax risks, ensuring that the company has appropriate policies and procedures in place to mitigate potential tax exposures. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Collaboration with Finance & Legal Teams:
Work closely with the finance, legal, and business teams to ensure tax strategies are integrated into overall business planning. Provide tax advice on corporate transactions, including restructurings, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Process Improvement:
Continuously review and improve tax-related processes to enhance efficiency and ensure timely compliance. Implement best practices in tax reporting and planning.
Qualifications:
- CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification, with a specialisation in tax.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with transfer pricing and tax provisions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
